Yarn along

Joining in the Yarn along once again with Ginny at Small things.

Lot's of finished projects lately and new idea's in mind so I thought I'd share progress on the ongoing hookie thing:

That's right, it's the Granny Stripe.
It seems as if it never grows but stretching it out on our kingsize bed this morning reveals it's true size. A long way to go yet:

Reading this week - The Food our Children eat by Joanna Blythman. So-so reading, mostly what I know already, with a few wincing moments thrown in. Not sure I'll keep with it to the very end. In fact, if anyone wants it then let me know. (If more than one of you do then I'll have to pull from a hat....)

Loving your Granny so far, I have nearly granny striped myself into oblivion in the past. Like a moth to a flame though I keep getting yearnings to make another! My son loves his 'Multi-coloured' blanket. The book looks great but thankfully I have no need for it, I weaned my sons on vegetables, swede, sweet potato, pumpkin etc and have always offered them a wide variety of foods...we also grow some of our own. One is a teenager now and still loves to try 'unusual' or 'new' food, sushi, Game, seafood, shellfish, Goat ....I have two good eaters.

That is going to be a fantastic blanket! I can understand why progress seems to be made so slowly but every finished row should make you happy as it is so pretty =)

Amazing, I think it goes so well with your bedding, it may be far from finished now, but when you are all snuggled up in the winter, you will be really made up that you carried on. Cant wait to see the finished item xx

The blanket is beautiful. Keep at it, it will be worth it in the end!

Love it. And once you reach the point where the blanket is covering your legs and feet, I find it starts to feel like you're getting somewhere!

I'm just sewing up my latest blanket; I'll take photos in the morning, when the light is better.

Oh I love your granny stripe! I'm working on one too (in between the other 281 project I have on the needles ;), and there's just something so very homey and cosy about them, isn't there?
Blessings,
G

The blanket is looking great, even if there is still quite a way to go!

I love your granny stripes! I am making a granny square afghan (though I seem to have decided it is only an autumn/winter project) but now want to just do stripes too, cause then I could lay it out as I go, which doesn't really work with just squares...
