Yarn along

Joining in with Ginny again.

Very quick today as I have a long afternoon ahead of me in work (training, so sitting on bum for a long while...)
Should have been sharing progress on the double rib scarf from the previous post but seeing as it's already ripped back after 12cms then there's no photo to show ;) I am going back to it later but have decided on bigger needles and a 4x4 rib instead for a little more flexibility.
Instead I could show progress on the bubble rib scarf for Emma, only that looks exactly as it did last time, only longer, 120cms now, woohoo, the end is in sight.
So what to share today?
How about these, my top secret, middle of the night knits - gloves for the man!

Apologies for the poor photo quality once again, this home barely gets any natural light through the shorter days.
Reading this week, well again, pretty much the same as last time, but with this book added in. Lot's of different ideas for makes by little people, planning all our Christmas crafting sessions and checking that we have in all the essentials we will need.
I love this last week of November, the anticipation of a funfilled month ahead, don't you?
Oh, a question too. When you read all these lovely yarn along posts do you feel obliged to leave a reply to every one? Or is that just me? I always feel that if you have been kind enough to open up a little part of your life to me, then I should show my appreciation. Even if it takes several days now to read through all those posts.....

Happy yarning everyone.

Yes I always want to leave a comment on all Yarn Along posts (I love to read the ones left for me), but can only where a pop up comment box appears, frustrating! It's like joining a conversation then leaving without saying anything otherwise :) Love the gloves, they look so warm! xx

I'm imagining you now furtively knitting under the bedsheets by torchlight while your dear hubby snores on unaware of the delight in store for him on christmas morn when he unwraps his warm woolly mittens.........careful of those dropped stitches in the dark now! x

I always try to respond to everyone who visits my blog, and to all the posts in the Christmas Challenge I am part of, but it is sometimes difficult to keep up!

Nice going on the gloves but make sure you have good light and are not straining your eyes. I also feel that it is polite to leave those who are participating a comment, especially if they took their time to leave me a comment, which I love
! So you are not the only one.

I surely would, which is why I don't open them all. I took one look the first time I saw your link and said "step away...step away" LOL I seriously have enough trouble trying to keep up with all the One a day updates without neglecting all my other blog buddies out there. I have been so so tempted to join in but will have to wait as I would feel rude not commenting. I know if I ever get the time I will be checking out all the links for sure. Love love love checking out what people are creating and reading. xoxox

PS> Yesterday I was offline all day as I went on a long train trip to meet up with cyber un-schooling friends one visiting from another state. It was AWESOME!

It is getting dark so early now - I can only really take photos indoors mid morning. I am sure J will love his surprise gloves.
I always visit people who visit me, and any followers who are taking part. I also like to visit new people so will close my eyes and click the mouse on a couple of links. I can't visit everyone as there are so many who link to yarn along xxx

There are so many Yarn Alongers, it's hard to make time to visit as many as you'd like isn't it. Doesn't that just show how clever Ginny was to tap into the knit/read combination! There are a few names that I always visit, and always leave a comment for. And each week I try to visit a few more besides (if time allows!) ;0)

I love your perspective-loving the last week of November in anticipation of December's fullness. What a beautiful way to look at it.
How do you stay awake? I wish I could stay awake longer.
We have that book too and I love it. Thanks for the late-night knitting inspiration!

Hi! Yes, the days are so short now and so little light. Latvia makes up for it though during the summer with 20 hours of visible daylight! Good evening knitting and reading light then!
Yes, it is hard to read and leave comments for everyone now. When the Yarn Along first started it was easy, but now! Oh, My!
I try to sneak in every so often in the early morning quiet moments.
Have a great day!!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I admit, I'm in a season where I can't read all the blogs linked, let alone comment, so I was glad to have had your comment lead me to your blog. Your knitting is lovely.

I'm so impressed with people who make actual gloves with actual fingers! I don't think I have the patience ;)

The book looks fun, I love kid crafts!

Oh I love the gloves, fingers seem like they would be hard to do! I try to leave comments on everyone's blog I open, because I am inspired by so many people! I also like to leave a comment back on anyone that leaves one on mine. It does take time doesn't it?!?

I've been hunting for daylight too, not easy these days. But that's part of the cosiness of near advent; I can't wait either!

Lovely gloves! How disheartening to have to rip back so much, but at least you will be happy with it. Worth it in the long run.

I'm probably a bit antisocial with my comments! Time is precious enough as it is, let alone visiting and commenting on all of the posts!! But if someone has inspired me, then I like to leave a comment.

I'm so impressed that you're making gloves. Seems like those fingers would each take forever. And how do you like the crafting book? My oldest is really wanting to make things lately and I'm short on ideas. And, while I don't have time to comment on every yarn along post I read, I do make sure to visit the blog of everyone who has commented on mine even if it does take me a while. I really appreciate the people I've met through the yarn alongs, so I look forward to visiting their blogs each week.
