Yarn along.

Joining in once more with Ginny over at small things.
My favourite "me-time" activities, or rather, the me-time I can grab whilst small people are eating, sleeping, playing happily.

Awful picture quality - my camera battery is flat AGAIN and my mobile isn't great for photo's.....but it rings and calls so good for me :)

Reading this week - Oliver Twist, the study guide edition. I have never read the original version of this book, only the child-friendly, heavily adapted versions. More darkness evident from the very first page. This is my kitchen read, whilst stirring soups, eating supper whilst children sleep and such times.
On the needles is yet another gift, a scarf to go with the hat I made Emma but haven't yet revealed. This pattern is in my head and I'm hoping it goes well with the hat which is a simple rib and stocking stitch beret.

Off to browse more yarn-alongs and gather inspiration.

Reading the classics! I always mean to and then opt for something a little less... it often feels less though. I should really dig in to some of the good ones! I love the start of your scarf. I will look forward to coming back to check on the progress.

You really must read the original someday. Dickens is wonderful. The stories may contain darkness but there is humor sprinkled here and there throughout all of his story lines. Lovely scarf!

Thanks for your support re: the crazy buttonhole episode today. I love having a book and a project for different rooms in the house and/or different occasions! I've never read Oliver Twist ... I really must at it to my to be read pile :-)

Tough reading! I'm a big fan of Dickens, but I'm a little afraid of the heaviness of that story.
Good luck with the gifty projects!

what a lovely image, stirring soup, reading and maybe sneaking in a row or two.

I just popped in to see your blog. Your work is beautiful. I was reading about knitting last evening. I was amazed at all the different patterns there are in knitting. Thanks for your nice comment on my blog. Looking forward to more projects.

Love the scarf; the pattern is coming out beautifully.

I'm amazed that you can read while stirring soup and practicing other kitchen stuff. I wish I were that coordinated.
